Velvetene Turf is for salt affected areas. Velvetene has a much lower tolerances for drought, shade and frost. Surprisingly though, Velvetene has the highest tolerance level for salt out of all the different Turf Types.

It is because of this high tolerance against salt that Velvetene grows in a wide variety of soil types and PH levels. It is most common in areas near the shores and bodies of salt water.Velvetene Turf

Many golf courses are keen on using Velvetene Turf near the holes that have adjacent water. Velvetene is ideal for golf resorts that have water lagoons because of its high tolerance against salt, but also because of its soft leafs.

It has a fine waxy leaf and and though its leafs are on the smaller side, they have a wax coating which gives it the appearance of a glistening bright green and have a surprising soft velvety touch.

The maintenance needed for Velvetene Turf is moderate but is simple for enthusiests and people in the industry.

Velvetene is a Seashore Paspalum and weed control is recommended via a Pre-emergence program.
